A massive explosion has rocked the northern province of Kunduz in Afghanistan, killing at least 28 people and injuring dozens of others.

(AhlulBayt News Agency) - The blast is said to be a bomb attack that "targeted a government department in Imam Sahib district, leaving several people dead and injured," Xinhua quoted district governor Mohammad Ayub Haqyar as saying on Monday.

He also added that the blast took place in front of the Registration and Census department in the north of the war-torn country at noon time and possibly some 40 people were killed and injured.
